Fortune Pond footage from July 24th

Thu Aug 06, 2020 11:39 am

There regular crew showed up at Fortune Pond in July with an addition. Mike, a buddy of mine from my teenage years joined us. We hadn't seen each other in forty years and it was nice to get back together. He was my first dive buddy back in a day. He really showed an interest in the Vintage stuff. Ron lent him a tank, regulator and backpack set up and away we went. I told Mike that he may or may not get Covid, but he would most certainly catch the vintage diving bug! A good time was had by all!

Looks like you guys had fun!

But don't you know how
DANGEROUS
diving without a BC or SPG is? :)

Yaah. I need a BC like the one in the video. It floats your tank a foot off your back and puts the valve next to your head.

To each their own. If he's comfortable diving like that, go for it.

Looks like you had fun.

What was the water temp?

Water temps were in the 60's in the top 30 feet or so. Low 40's at depth. We had a beautiful summer day with the high in the 80's, lots of sun and low humidity.

Great Video SwimJim!

- Wow... The new GoPro and light system are producing excellent quality video images. That's quite a difference from what I get with my original HERO I GoPro. And as usual, you did a great job of editing it all together into a nice story. That's a lot of time, effort, and creativity. Thanks Jim!
