Becoming Cousteau

Sat Aug 19, 2023 5:07 pm

I just watched it on HULU and I'm a bit MEH about it. It didn't really cover La Bergère and as we all know she was the real brains behind the man and the founding of The Cousteau Society. Also it glosses over Philip and Jean-Micheal which was kind of a "duh" for me. After watching the credits and seeing Francine Triplet's name in there I understood why... I expected more from a NatGeo film. That's too bad.

Anyway the question I have is during the Antarctic sequence they show the divers wearing what a appears to be a unisuit and diving cyklon regs (both by Poseidon, the logo is visible). Did Cousteau have some sort of arrangement with Poseidon? I know the metal version of the cyklon is setup for ice diving (I have 2 of them) and is one of the best regs you can get for that purpose but I've never heard if Cousteau had some sort of partnership with Poseidon, anyone know the history of that and can post here about it?
