Ill have to remember that method of using a tail spindle on top of a tail spindle to find center with the dial.

What is the advantage of the piston over a diaphragm?

They tend to bit simpler in design but otherwise nothing really. i prefer diaphragm regs as they are better sealed and have an external way to adjust the IP. The main reason I made this one is just to make something different since every other 2 stage DH reg was a diaphragm design.

There was supposed to be a Healthways SCUBA MASTER piston double hose in June of 1965 as advertised in their 1964 catalog. This never happened. I did hear of one prototype being made, and one friend actually saw it. So Herman has a neat project.

Awesome work Herman! Great write up and pictures. Thanks for sharing them!
Thank you. I agree it was nice going thru watching the steps. Have you thought about doing You Tube Version of your process? Since the art of machinery is dying off, it would be nice for some to look at in a few years.

Thanks Tom. The reg dives nicely. I have another idea still on the bench but I have way too much going on these days to get back to it. Come on retirement. :)
