First stage volcano orifice size.

Mon Aug 03, 2009 7:28 pm

Here is something that has been asked a few times. I measured most of them using numbered drill rod. They are supposed to be fairly precise diameters.

Mistral:
ID = 0.086” (#44)

DA Aqua Master
ID = 0.096” (# 41) Quantity of 3 DA nozzles first stages measure this amount.
ID = 0.093” (# 42) Quantity of 1 DA nozzle first stages measure this amount.
ID = 0.082” (# 45) Quantity of 1 DA nozzle first stages measure this amount. This was obviously an older DA nozzle.

Royal Aqua Master
ID = 0.110” (# 35)

Aqua Lung Titan removable nozzle
ID = 0.120” (measure using dial calipers) I will double check this dimension later.

I have not measure any Conshelf or other RAM, but I will as the opportunity come up.
In the past I have measured at least one RAM with a orifice of around 0.120”, but I can’t remember which one.

I will move this to the “Regulator and Technical Information” in a few days. I am posting it here for a few days in case anyone has any comments.

+1 of my DA's at #41. I'll check my other DA when I unpack it.
