Interesting duckbill and diaphragm. I have already gotten an "new" 1st stage and main 2nd stage diaphragm from the Ukraine.

In reality, the AVM-1 is a modified single stage. The so called first stage diaphragm is a high pressure activation device hookup that allows air to flow to the second stage. It is triggered (opened up) only when tank pressure hits the diaphragm, which is the reverse of say a Mistral. Internally its "1st" stage has two up stream seats that are adjustable for various tank pressures. The outer pressure relief valve is supposed to be adjusted to 9kp if I remember, and is easily adjusted using a set ring to secure it. The main body also has a LP port for additional equipment such as either another second stage reg or possibly a power inflator or other kind of equipment of some kind. I am pointing to the adjustment valve in the picture and the LP port is the opposite chrome looking port cover.

There are no one-way valves in the mouthpiece and is reminiscent of a CG-45 and other early La Spirotechnique regulators and allows the hoses to get flooded which could cause the untrained DHer to have possible problems if he or she does not know how to clear a flooded hose in its entirety.
Should be fun and I am awaiting a din adapter that fits better than the one I have from Russia. Breaths surprisingly well, but we'll see how it does in the pool when totally done. All in all, it is a very well made and robust reg.
