Surflung: Yes, I will have my portable air compressor along to fill tanks. I will have over 20 tanks along if you break them all up into singles....

I could bring my generator along to so we could recharge the guy's underwater scooter on site so multiple people could try it.....

Ron, you are a walking One-Man Fun Machine! Awfully generous of you to offer both air fill and scooter charging services! :)
swimjim wrote:As there was no Sand Dog this year because of the SeaHunt event, a vintage dive get together was organised at Fortune Pond, Crystal Falls upper Michigan August 19th - 21st. Call it what you will..... don't wan't to cross any forbidden boundaries..... But it is a vintage dive get together none the less. If you are one who cannot tolerate water sub 70 degree's, please do not exceed 20 feet. You will have excellent viz. I have yet to meet a diver at Fortune Pond who was let down by poor viz. Swimjim
Looking forward to diving with you Friday the 19th, SwimJim and SheriffDiver! :)

I plan on traveling up on Thursday.
Have a reservation at the Lake Shore for Thursday night, and on their wait list for Friday night.
The Kraken is ready.

Thanks for organizing the event,
Brian

I just received the shipment notice for my Kraken DSV Mouthpiece! If it arrives in time, I will try to bring it to Fortune Pond.

I hope you all have a great time diving at Fortune Pond. Sound like a worthy event. Post up some photos when possible.

I'm sad to report that I won't make it this weekend. I need to go to South Carolina and visit my dad who isn't doing so hot. I will try to make it to the September gathering. Have fun! Big Mike.

A family item just came up and I will not be able to attend.
I hope to make the next one; the UP is so scenic.
Have a great weekend of diving.

Take care,
Brian

Snap Shots from our Dive Weekend...
- In spite of the rainy weather and last minute no-shows, we had a heck of a good time diving Fortune Pond last weekend.
SwimJim, DiverDon, SheriffDiver, myself(SurfLung), and my wife Jill were all there. Jill took these snapshots.
Image
- DiverDon had some shorty Twin Tanks (even shorter than my yellow 38s)
Image
- DiverDon and SheriffDiver with their Dacor Nautilus and Aqualung UDS-1 Systems
Image
- The 2016 Kraken Owner's Group: SwimJim and I sporting two of the first "Red Hose" editions and I think SheriffDiver ordered the last one of the Red Hose models. Note that Jim and I have our new DSV mouthpieces installed. Ron had color coordinated twin tanks and horsecollar BC.
Image Image
- SheriffDivers Sportsways Twin 72s look good with the Kraken. On the right is my Kraken with DSV.
Image Image
- SheriffDiver with 1974-75 era UDS-1 diving system by Aqualung... Looking good man!
Image Image
- SheriffDiver's 1975 gear and SurfLung's 1961 gear... Neat Contrast.

Some Underwater Snapshots...

- SurfLung and SwimJim with DSV equipped Argonaut Kraken regs!

- Our history making vintage Dacor Nautilus vs. Aqualung UDS-1 video session w/SwimJim adding some light.
Image
- Amazing visibility in spite of heavy overcast skies above and diminished light below. 75 ft. depth.
