A Whole Week at Fortune Pond?
- The idea occurred to me on one of our two day trips. The Lakeshore Motel up there charges only $60 a night for these cute little efficiency apartments with kitchen facilities. If a person was to take a week's vacation there, the 2-person lodging would be only $420. For a whole week! You could cook in or go out to eat as much as you want. And if the weather is sunny, that area is about as beautiful as the best spots on earth.
- The only down side to a diving vacation at Fortune is the lack of a dive shop at which to get your tanks filled. I can fit enough tanks in my SUV for 2 people to each make 5 dives. That's not enough tanks for a full week of diving.
- This is what got me thinking of converting my compressor from electric to gas powered. On the other hand, maybe the motel manager would let me plug in and fill tanks with my electric if I could do it mid day when the guests won't be bothered?
