As much as I would like to be there I probably won't be able to attend. As some of you might remember I was suffering from back related leg pain and numbness at the first Sea Hunt event at Silver Springs in 2008 and had lower back surgery shortly after.
I am now having the same problem and will need a lower spine fusion at L4/L5 and possibly higher to hopefully correct it for all my remaining time on earth.
I am scheduled for xrays and an MRI this coming week to determine exactly how many vertebra will need to be fused. The first surgery did not involve a fusion. Once that is determined a surgery date will be set, probably late April or early May.

Have fun guys, I will be watching

L4/L5 is a bad neighborhood. That's where they cleaned out what was left of my disk. I hope things go well for you Captain!

What should the water temp be in the SPrings? Dove Vortex Springs in the Fall one time and it was cool. Need to know if wet suit advisable.

Thanks and see you there.

All the Florida springs are in the 65 to 70 range year round.

May will be nice and tosty weather wise so be sure to pack a big hat and sunscreen to cover your head between dives. The springs are clear enough to get a sunburn while diving if you spend a lot of time in the shallows.....

With a 72 degree year round temperature, my camo swim trunks do nicely!  Last week I had to get through a foot of ice to go diving. Then it's dry suit, undergarments and all the rest. I guess it's like Bryan living in Florida so he can wear shorts all the time. Not a bad plan really :) Makes life more simple.

nefarious, Indeed! 8)

I made a reservation the day we said the springs was the place this year... now if someone will just write my wife a note that says I must be excused for a few days, I'll be golden...

:D Although very busy in the recording studio, I've been following the forum frequently and caught discussions on Sand Dog 2015 with great interest. Many thanks to Roger for contacting me directly. Plans to attend are now complete. Looking forward to seeing one and all once again!

I'll be there for Sand Dog this year. Unfortunately, the Days Inn Orange City shows no vacancy, so I will be staying down the road at the Orange City Motel. I am excited to see everyone again soon.
