For a short cold snap, this is a strategy used by the growers to help protect the orange trees by having the sprayed-on water freeze instead of the oranges. Regretfully, if it stays below freezing for an extended period, the oranges will freeze, too.

And the strawberries in Plant City are getting a dip in ice also. It isn't the technique (Latent heat of fusion) that is cool, but the temperature that is causing it to be used. Us Yankees chuckle at your pain. :roll: :roll:
