HDS in Denmark

Sun Sep 05, 2010 5:02 pm

Our friend Niels Sejr Oxenvad in Denmark attended a really cool HDS function and sent us a whole lot of pictures. All kinds of gear that I have never seen before plus some interesting hat diving. Something for everyone.

You can get them two places. Photobucket if you want to see them or the VDH download section if you want to get a copy a look at them later. Links to both are below.

Hi Bryan.

I do not know if it is on purpose, but it is only possible to see the full range of photos in the download section, some of the more interesting photos of the vintage diving gear exhibition is missing in the photobucket.

The links is pointing to further information’s and photos:

Sorry :( Not sure what is going on with Photobucket......With some of that gear I would call it Ancient or Museum Diving Society! Right out of Jules Verne. Thank you for sharing

sniox,

Thank you for the pictures. You sure put us to shame, but here is a link to our last event. The vintage scuba course is not scheduled until March. This was from June: http://classicdiver.org/hdsseap-portland-2010.html

The double hose scuba can be seen in the Face Book HDS SEAP website. There is also video of our aquarium dive. We taught the staff how to use double hose and they dived one on of Rob's plastic regulators and my Sportsways Dual Air.

Even though I was working as a tender at the event, I had time to dive some of the cool stuff people brought with them from all over Europe.
One of my best dives was in HDS Norway’s reproduction diving bell, crafted according to the drawings in the Swede Mårten Triewald´s book: http://www.thehds.com/publications/monographs.html
I am now a certified diving bell diver 8) a thing you never will see as a PADI specialty
I also had the chance to dive an open Miller Dunn model III helmet, a reproduction of an open Swedish wooden diving helmet, David Dekker and Rob Krull´s replica Rouquayrol Denayrouze regulator the "Aerophere" http://www.divingheritage.com/r+dkern.htm plus a Sibe Gorman 12 bolt standard dress :D
Please feel free to ask me any question about the European Historical Diving Event 2010, the exhibition, gear or dives.

Best regards

Niels
