Guys,
I don't want to shake my fist like the bitter IT guy here, but saying something happens does literally nothing to help me fix it. If you come across this, and you want to reply here, then
list the time of the day to the minute and which time zone you were in when search didn't work for you. Alternately, use zulu time if you want. I need to know when our servers hit their peak load.
As an example, there are like 450,000 lines of logs. That means I would have to read 450 thousand things to find where the peak amount of errors are.
Pretend it's a car. It's much easier to fix a car when you bring it in and say, "The front left tire wobbles" then when you drop it off, shrug at the mechanic, and go across the street for coffee.
If you need a format, copy and paste this:
Day of the week search timed out:
Time that search timed out: HH:MM
Time zone you are in:
Also, please don't email me this, because I get ~1700 emails a week at work. Just reply here if you want, and I'll get to it.
The short answer is I'm still working on it, lol!
