I picked up a couple of tanks the other day. nothing special, just standard AL 80s. One tank had a valve in it that said made in France on the back, along with three stars. The handle was rusted in place, so I cut the handle off and started disassembly. There's only one O-ring so far, and it appears to seal the bonnet nut. The valve seat is a large piece that occupies the entire valve body, unlike the ones I'm more familiar with that have a shelf that the bonnet nut seats to with a crush gasket. The seat is also operated with a square recess instead of a blade, and the stem as a square piece on the end to fit into the recess and operate the valve.
I hope I've used the right terms, and I've attaches a couple of pis. Anybody know anything about this?
