Overhaul kit for USD Solid bar manifold.

Fri Oct 16, 2015 4:12 pm

Does anyone know where a US Diver build kit for the solid bar double j-valve manifold can be purchased? It is kit # 280095. Any help is appreciated!

When I overhauled mine it was all standard parts found on most every other USD valves I've worked on. I looked around for a kit without luck. I didn't have any problem finding parts. Mark

I figured standard seats and some or-rings would get the job done. I had been told that the kits are sold by US Divers but only to the military. Did not seem right to me.

It uses the same parts as a single J valve of the same era.

I have one of the solid bar triple manifolds. I reused the backup ring, thrust washer and seat. I only replaced the stem oring and bonnet oring. Those were 70 duro and am thinking maybe should have used 90 on the bonnet nut. I have yet to test it so who knows if it will hold.

Mine wouldnt service it because aqualung wouldnt sell them parts. Said the needed parts were military only.

Keith, send or post some good photos of the parts you need. I have a lot of stuff that is in unmarked bins that we may be able to match up.

Old post but all o-rings are standard. Reused the seats and used a copper crush washer for the end cap instead of the original plastic/nylon. Shops near me won't touch my stuff.

Had a guy not want to fill my 72s with solid bar because he didn't like the way they looked.

He knows I am PSI inspector. Supposedly he verified my number from the last time I was there. He did fill my aluminum tanks though.

Eventually I will have to do a compressor conversion. The number of shops who actually know what they are talking about is slowly on the decline.

Was considering breaking them down and showing him the insides to prove a point but figure there are 2 shops 20 minutes away they will fill them and my 1/2 tapered 42s.
