Luis and I have covered the DIN / Argonaut/double hose subject pretty thoroughly in many other threads on the forum. I will not manufacture a DIN for the Argonaut.

My DIN adapter has now arrived from Florida - Many thanks

I thought before I tried to fit it I would clarify how the two o-rings go in between it and the Kraken.

Fitted them dry and about 4N-m (36in-lbs) on a 6mm Allen Key

Is that okay?

You need to torque the female threaded body first with a 26mm wrench. The torque value should be 20 foot* Lbs (27Nm). This is the most important torque and it should be done with a 26mm crow-foot wrench or similar. Note: This is the same torque value in the Titan and the Conshelf instruction.

After you torque the main body then you install the hand wheel and the retainer. You then tighten the retainer with a 6mm hex key. The retainer is torque to 15 foot* Lbs (20Nm) with the 6mm hex key (Allen Key).

Note: The 15 Ft* Lbs with a 6mm hex hey seems excessive so I checked the Conshelf DIN adapter instruction (versus the Titan) and this one says 40 inch*Lbs (3.3 foot*Lbs, or 4.5Nm). This seems a lot more reasonable.

All the DIN adaptors were sent with the factory packaging and install information along with spare O-rings and washers.

Many thanks for the extra info and hopefully I have done it correctly now :)

Another challenge was the Toque spanner I used is in Metres-Kg so from what I could see the 20 lbs-ft converts to 2.77 m-kgs

So with the DIN adapter disassembled I put some Crystalube on the o-rings...

And fitted the main part using a scubapro tool to help hold the Kraken

Using the spanner, I torqued it up and then fitted the other part of the body (parts pictured here)

And now on my 300 Bar tank just back from test (2.5yrs old)

But will it stick in my back? As pointed out, it does push the Kraken forward.

For future reference: you should never put that much grease on any O-ring. It just needs to wet the surface and wipe off any excess. The danger is that any excess grease will collect dust and particles (like sand). I would not bother taking it apart at this point, but I am mentioning it for future reference.

The longer regulator will certainly touch your back, but if you are wearing any kind of wet-suit or dry-suit, it should be perfectly comfortable and it is going to breath great. Make sure it touches between your shoulder blades and it should perform better that any regulator you have used.


I like the black and white tank color code that is used in Europe. I think we have the same color code to identify air here in the US, but nobody knows about it.

Many thanks for the tips, I shall have a chance this weekend to reduce the lube as the weather expected to be to bad to dive in our 7c water :(

7C not bad. The last time I dove the water was 33F or .55C. The Kraken didn't mind that at all. All 40 minutes worth. There was an inch of ice, but you could bash your fist through it, stick your head up and look around if you needed to get your bearings. Great fun.

Backup washer will fit inside O-ring. Install as shown in picture below and torque to Aqua Lung specifications.
