Neat little Dacor steel 72

Tue Oct 25, 2011 4:29 pm

New toy found on the Bay. In the bay pics it looked doggy so I bought it to strip down, throw out backpack, and match to another 72 for doubles. I was surprised when it arrived on how nice it cleaned up, included matching color original aluminum Dacor backpack and had outside original heavy epoxy paint. The inside liner is immaculate as well. Last hydro 9/75. Amazing stuff like this is still out there to be found. Keeping it "as is" for retro diving...........

- Very nice, Steve. That aluminum backpack is a really good find, I think. I have an aluminum one from Sportways and it's all bent up. To have a contoured metal back plate in such good condition must be pretty rare. Compare such a beautifully contoured back plate to the current crop of flat metal back plates they sell with BCDs... No comparison. The "Freedom Plate" that's no longer available wasn't even as nice as your metal back plate and it was priced an awful lot higher! :D
