US Diver K valve question

Sun Oct 11, 2020 8:09 pm

Good Evening All, I’m rebuilding a US Divers K valve with a high pressure port on it. Can anyone tell me what the high pressure port oring should be size wise? I have the old one but it’s in to poor of shape to compare.

If I remember correctly that should be a standard -011 oring, on a plug that was/is same as found on regulator first stages.
The older I get the better I was.

Very good Sir! I installed a -011 and it seems to be right. Do you now if a buna 70 will suffice or should I go with a 90?

USD used 70's on almost everything on their valves and regulators, including the port plugs and hose ends. A 90 would work fine on that plug too. Some think there is less chance for extrusion with 90's, but I never had an issue with that on their items. Regardless of questionable quality on some other items of that time the machining tolerances on valves and regulators were good, and orings stayed where they belonged.
