Help! unknown compressor..

Sun Mar 16, 2014 5:28 am

Hi
I've lived in New Zealand (ex Lancashire) for 20 yrs.

I recently swapped an old GPS for a dive compressor.
It is a 1988 diesel Lister engine, belt driven compressor.
I havent a clue about the brand of compressor but someone told me it was a DUNLOP?
I hope to get it going again in order to fill my tanks (we dive twice a week generally so its worth the effort)
I would like to know about the maintenance please and filter changing as last year I dived on "dirty air" and it was not nice...
The compressor came from a fire station in London where it was used to fill BA sets.
Thanks very much for any help, if you are coming down under and need any help/advise just shout..

cheers

Liam

I never heard of a Dunlop here in the states. Here is a good write up on breathing air compressors.

Bryan, maybe you could put the article in a stickey in this section.

It looks similar to UK made Bristol compressors, but other companies commonly make knock-offs of successful or popular brands, so it would be hard to tell without a nameplate.
The older I get the better I was.
