non-vintage...

Sun Feb 04, 2007 10:05 pm

Hi,

I will try to stay on topic in the future but I just read two very good non-fiction diving books. My apologies for bringinmg up here as they are non-vintage but I toss these in because they are so well written. I may be the last guy here to read them (they have been out a few years) but I really enjoyed them both. The first is "Shadow Divers" by Robert Kurson and the secod is "The last Dive" by Bernie Chowdhury. The second tells of the father and son that passed away diving the U-boat of the first book. Great writing with lots of references to the development of technical diving and the Andrea Doria.

Non vintage

I totally agree!

I also read them in the same sequence. Was totally alarmed at the father & son team placing their ambitions so far ahead of their talents, which is diving always leads to a tramatic event --in this case two deaths.

very sad!
