Bought a used set of 1990 gear and this is what was in the pockets of the junk BCD.

I can understand doing that with pennies but that looks like a decent mix of change. I’m not sure how much money that guy saved on lead.
1 lbs of pennies = $1.81
1 lbs of nickels = $ 4.50
1 lbs of dines = $20.00
1 lbs of quarters =$ 20.00

Cool!
That might have raised the value of that BCD.

That reminds me: how many of you used to keep a dime handy as part of your emergency plan?
To be able to call an ambulance from a payphone in case of emergency. OK, it had to be upgraded to quarter…

Wow, I think the pound of “Scuba lead” is running higher that a pound of pennies.
Scrap lead is about $0.45 per pound.

Well, I can see it as just another place to store your coins, at least it is more useful than in a jar. And it can come in handy.

You are now in the unique position to start a click bait empire. You can start sprinkling spam links all over the internet that say things like “Learn how to quit your day job and double you money investing in used scuba gear. Professional divers hate us for telling you the secret.”
You can’t lose.
