Aspirin Before Diving?

Thu Jan 18, 2018 1:22 pm

Should We Take Aspirin Before Diving?
- The Basic Scuba book by Fred Roberts describes blood effects of Decompression Illness as "agglutination". Aspirin has an anti-clotting effect on blood. I'm thinking, why not? I don't think it can do any harm and it might be an added protection along with staying hydrated, etc.

Good Point, and it used to be a fairly common practice. We used to mix aspirin with our version of multi-level diving calculations back in the 70's and early 80's. I don't recall what the decompression experts have had to say about it, but we came through un-bubbled.
The older I get the better I was.
