DH & Daughters

My daughters had their first experience with my DAAM (1st gen Phoenix) yesterday, in my parents' pool. Standard intro, including doffing and donning and buddy breathing. Pictured is one of my twins as we were about to refill our Al 63 rental cylinder at the nearby marina. Note the VDH backplate.

Good job. Getting our son and daughter into diving at very early ages was one of the best things we ever did for family activities. Even during the more difficult teen years, we shared that common interest and family bond, and had lots of fun together on many great dive trips!

Thanks, everyone. My girls have been a bit curious regarding their dad's hobby for a long time. First pic is of them "helping" me unpack from a professional conference trip to Seattle, where I took along my scuba gear and enjoyed my first Puget Sound dive ever, in May 2008. My eldest was about to turn seven years old, and twins had just turned five.

And second pic is from their first experience on scuba (backyard pool), in 2012. They have enjoyed a few days using scuba every year since, during our summer visit to my parents'.

My girls used a blow-molded backpack with a Scubapro Mk 10 + D400 (first three summers) and a Poseidon Odin (last year). This summer they used a VDH Al doubles backpack with PRAM and Scubapro MK 10 + G250. Last year they claimed to prefer the Odin because of its novelty of having no rightside up/upside down. This year, the PRAM is their new fav because, well, "the bubbles and sound are way back there!"

Looks like you will be needing more gear in the near future. .
