Dive mueseums in France?

Thu Aug 08, 2019 5:34 am

Have 10 days in France and would like suggestions for vintage dive muesums anywhere in France. Paris Maritime museum appers closed. I am very open to any site in France or Italy as i have zero plans at the moment but need to comit very soon. Have been to the Dumas musuem a few years ago in Toulon which was great. Best case would be to see anything related to Commeinhes equipment. Also very interseted in seeing Prieur equipment, or Fernez equipment. Any input would be very welcome.

Last time I was in France (1997), the Oceanographic museum in Monaco (right next to Nice) had an exhibit of Cousteau equipment that was pretty cool.
No idea if they still have it or not.

Ended up having a great conversation with one of the docents there and the next morning he took me out on his boat, loaned me a full set of dive gear, and we dove the cliff area right below the museum. Mark

Thanks for the good suggestions. I forgot about Looking into Monaco. I went past there a few years ago but did not think to stop in for five gear. I
had not heard about the one in Turin. I have a friend living there so two good reasons to take a look.
