Westcrest Watersport Reef Diver regulator

Tue Apr 19, 2016 9:52 am

I was visiting a LDS with the wife, when the shop owner pulled out a 1960s vintage single hose that I had not seen before. Of course, I had decided to visit the shop at precisely the time that my cell phone was at home charging, so I did not get any pictures. The regulator wasn't particularly notable except for its name, and the fact that I didn't immediately recognize it.

Could this have been a private label made for a company like Ohio Skin Divers Headquarters, Inc., as they are from our area?

Any ideas as to what it may be, and is it something a member would be interested in acquiring?

You probably mean "Westcrest Watersport" Reef Diver - this was a sub-brand by White Stag

@vintagefrank

Thanks for the clarification, I've updated the title for this thread. As I said in the original post, I didn't have my camera (or apparently my memory with me) when I saw the regulator. It is clearly a White Stag product, from photos posted of their equipment.

Does anyone know if this was a distinctive brand for sale at dive shops vs. sporting goods stores, kind of like how Swimaster differed from Voit?

White Stag tried twice to establish a second brand. First try was "Westcrest Watersport", second was "Aquanetic". Both did not last longer than one year until they were rolled back...

Return to “Single Hose Regulators.”
