So you would put the birthday somewhere in the late 1970ies? If so, I'm impressed as this one is also breathing just fine with no freeflow and is very clean inside. It must have been used in fresh water only as there is no evidence of verdigris. Judging from the striations on the diaphragm disc, I think this Conny did get a bit of use.

I'll try to figure out if the box was painted.

Like Bryan has mentioned, USD has a reputation of using stuff until it runs out, which is a practice I admire. I have seen 80's conshelf XIV regs without the port plug. IIRC, the port plug ones say "14" on the sticker, and the non-port plug ones says "XIV" although I am sure that was a moving target as well.

I couldn't resist a new in box late model Conshelf 14 on ebay a few days ago and paid $175 for it- which I think is pretty good value for what it is!
Something I think is interesting is that the current Conshelf's still have "US Divers" on the front cover and yoke knob instead of "Aqualung"! It might have something to do with the "made in USA" on the box instead of "made in France"?

Sometime ago I acquired an early Conshelf 12 1st stage and rebuilt it using spare parts I had lying around. I've been trying to come up with a use for it, and figures I would us it on a pony bottle when I was diving a single stage DH reg.

Well. A couple weeks ago I came across a Titan for a bargain price and bought it to go with the Conshelf 12. I have to say, I like the look. And since there is a lineage form the Aqua Master to the conshelf and then on to the Titan( and back to the Pheonix ) it seemed to appropriate:

Thanks for starting this topic. Good to know that my daily diver reg now, my Conshelf XI, was made about the same time I was (1970). I have mine set up for "modern" diving, with inflator hose, octo., etc., but that is no big deal.
I know that I need to change the position of the cover rings on the second stages now, to the "six o'clock" position...

This morning I dove my Titan equipped Conshelf XXII and my buddy used my brand new Conshelf 14. It's hard to see in the photo, but in the name of minimal hoses I set him up with Sherwood Shadow. I'll ask my new buddy if he wants to try a Kraken om Thursday night, if so, we'll get a couple Kraken on dive together. If not, I'll dive one of the MR 12's I've been neglecting.

I have six of these SEA first stage still going strong. First two bought in 1988.
2 DIN + environmental seal setup for side-mount
2 DIN for OW
2 yoke for spares

Great regs - all the internals are the same as other conshelfs except the base o-ring which is metric I sourced a pack from an oring supplier in UK. Have mixed and matched a variety of different conshelf 2nd stages on them.

In my biased opinion is they are the best conshelf first stage because the port layout gives you such a lot of flexibility.
I am always in the market for more DIN models if anyone wants to dump any? (the DIN adaptor is no longer available).

I have 6 SEAs that I still use. 2 have the environmental (silicon top). 4 are DIN. 2 are yoke.
Great regs as they use the same internals as the rest of conshelfs, except the bottom plug o-ring which is 11x2 metric.
Took me a while to figure that out as the USD manual doesn't tell you. I bought a pack of 20 viton from a specialist supplier in the UK so I have spares.

The nice thing about the SEA is that it has four LP (1 1/2 and 3 3/8) and 2 HP - one either side. That means you can do any hose configuration you like - even side-mount. The first 2 I bought from new in 1988 - the rest I have accumulated from eBay.

Various second stages - gone through a lot over the years as they get the dreaded plastic cracking problem around the inlet (I striped and threw two away today for that issue)

the later is very popular in Europe. Lots of them on German ebay

I got impatient waiting for a reply, and found a nice SEA4 on eBay, 8mm hex on both ends. It still has the 1/2" LP + 3x 3/8" LP, so that never changed over time.

I measured the weight (1st stage only, yoke) at 39oz compared to 34oz for HOG D1, and 26oz for Conshelf SE.

May I know, if anyone knew the filter for a Conshelf SEA. Does, it really have a hole there? Like what I have on mine?
