I think you have switched topics to the ScubaPro 109? That is a big topic jump from a Tekna T2100. If so the blue thing is used to insert into the diaphragm cover opening to keep the diaphragm depressed when the regulator is stored. This keeps the second stage LP seat from taking a set.joeym35a2 wrote:Thanks. There was a small tear in the seal ring hopefully I can get another also the spring retainer was not very tight I don't have a wrench to tighten it back up just yet to see if that fixes it other then those things I coukdnt find anything else that looked out of place
It was a pretty good reg though I hated it at first and could never figure out why my dad liked the thing so much it wasn't untill I went a bit deeper thst I figured it out. I need it working tomorro for a dive and knew that wasn't gonns happen so I searched second hand stores for a cheap replacement I found a box with another mk5 and a 105 or Mabey 109 as of yet I'm unsure but anyhow I hooked it up and it all worked paid 40 bucks came with pressure guage too So now I can make my dive and not have to spend a lot to get a reg from the lds
My last stupid question though is what the heck is the aligator clamp on the black string for with the blue plastic thing that says to insert near hose for long term storage to protect fine factory tuneing ? I assume it just clips on to a harness or something to keep reg handy but that stupid blue peice doesn't seem to have a function or fit anywhere.
The T2100BX is not a conversion. As I stated earlier, there were three models, consecutive, each replacing the former. The T2100 brass case. That was followed by the T2100B with the plastic case but same innards as the T2100. The T2100BX followed and was plastic throughout. It was a piece of junk. Most components from all three can be interchanged into all sorts of hybrid configurations.joeym35a2 wrote:it was a momentary switch i figured out what i bought but the stupid blue thing just drove me crazy and i just had to know what the heck it was for it was quite the conversation peice standing around non vintage friendly dive store with shop owner confused too as where to stick the blue piece he did have a few suggestions but im not sure its appropriate to list them.
i only bought it as i needed it for a few dives and it looked old and shiney enuff to replace tekna to get away from the "you cant dive shop dives becuse you are dangerous with old equipment that cant be passed to a buddy " and no i didnt get it from the dive shop!
now that i am on a computer i can see your photo here is one of mine after just getting back into diving after a 20 year break using gear i scrounged up and some i bought. it was quite the shock going from dive tables to computers.
and Bc is only to be used on surface in an emergancy to just hit the elevator button to go up or down and "who cares about how much weight you got on if you sink add some more."
i just want my tekna to work damnit !
what is the bx conversion???
if i found the plastic model would it be possible just to switch housings if the performance is similar? then i could still keep the metal instead of plastic housing and at least have something im somewhat used to using.
ill have to add photo later i just tried 6 times and it wont let me
