Proper label (silver or yellow) for 1979 Conshelf XIV

Sun Nov 27, 2011 10:56 am

With VDH now selling replacement labels for the Conshelf XII and XIV, I've decided to put the proper labels back on my 1979 Connie XIV (it's been living the past several years with improper Conshelf 20 labels). My problem is that VDH doesn't have the USD 1979 catalog on file. In 1975, silver labels were the norm, by 1980 it had switched to yellow. My 1977 came with silver labels, so I know that the silver continued past 1975. What color is correct for 1979?

Edit: According to an old ScubaBoard post, the label on the Conshelf XIV changed from black and silver to black and yellow between 1978 and 1979, so it would appear that black and silver label is correct for the 1977 and 1978 Conshelf XIV, while the black and yellow label is correct from 1979 through the change from Conshelf XIV to Conshelf 14.

1980 definitely has yellow. Looked a NIB 1980 today. I'll check my others but they are all yellow and later, I believe. However, Amron International shows new ones on their website with silver fyi.
