Desperate Plea for Scubapro MK10 Swivel Washer

Tue Aug 27, 2019 9:15 pm

I picked up my first MK10/BA recently. After having rebuilt several MK5 and MK7 units, I thought it was time for the successor to the MK5. Anyway, the disassembly went well, along with the ultrasonic cleaning, and parts inspection.

Now, the frustrating news..... I cannot locate the swivel washer. I know that I had it, but it’s nowhere to be found. So, my first inclination was to try to find a useable nylon washer on McMaster. After carefully measuring the various dimensions, I found that nothing is available in either SAE or metric standard sizes. The Scubapro schematic number is 16, and the part number is 01-060-500.

Hopefully, COUV, or another Scubapro expert has a spare, or can steer me in the right direction. While tolerances are an issue, here are my impressions of what is needed: ID 0.525”, OD 0.650”. The thickness is a guess by assembling the swivel cap, swivel, and swivel retainer, and eyeballing the clearance. I’m estimating 0.015-0.020” should be about right. Too thick, and the parts will drag excessively. If all else fails, I may need to try an o-ring as a spacer. Not too thrilled with that idea.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Of course, it makes a somewhat attractive paperweight.

Thanks.

Do you have a SP part number?? I have an old SP shop near me that might have one, be happy to ask.

Hi Greg,

give me a hint, when you find no solution and I will find you one (even if I cannibalize one of my old spareparts regs….)

I asked sometime back about reproducing them and my peers advised I'd never sell enough to see a profit. I'm sorry I can't help you Greg.

Bryan, I fully understand the situation. A number of individuals are assisting with the search. I’m always highly impressed with just how that occurs when one of us has a need.

I’m really glad it was as my own personal reg.

If all else fails, I’ll search for a parts reg on an auction site. That way, I’ll have other parts as spares when someone has a similar need.

I've got you covered Greg. Send me your snail mail address to and I'll get one out to you.

FWIW all SP regulators that have a swivel use the same swivel retainer and retainer washer (except the MK5) The new washers are different in that they are not wide like the old ones, but they work just as well.
Retainer p/n 10-500-103 (replaced by-104)
washer p/n 01-060-500
A sincere THANK YOU to all at VDH who make this wonderful resource available and to all the thoughtful contributors.
